Gratitude & Mental Health

Our Wellness Center is becoming a reality! Thank you for your support! We have raised almost $20,000 in donations and pledges. Thank you to STARR Insurance Companies and Sirius Point for matching the donations of their employees.

In this season of giving thanks, support our campaign + your mental health by sharing your words and photography.

The Power of Observation

Photography is proven to develop awareness, attention, and gratitude. So often, we go through life not seeing what is right in front of us, and if we don’t see it we can’t savor it. We can’t reflect on its meaning, we can’t feel connected to this world. A camera helps us to slow us down and take in the details of the present. What if we looked at the world through the lens of being a mindful photographer? What if we approached our days as if we were searching for snapshots? Observing, being aware of what’s around us, and not judging.

Practice gratitude this week by taking a photo of what brings you joy or what you are grateful for, and sharing it with our community. Click here for details and to upload your photo.

Dare to Share

Talking about thoughts, feelings, and mental health can be tough. But sharing our struggles opens the door to healing, reduces stigma, and helps others to see they are not alone. Can you remember a time when someone shared their powerful story with you? MJ has said, “We must start talking about mental health.” Add your words to the conversation! Give to our community this week by sharing how mental illness has affected your life. Click here for details and to upload your words.
